The Power of Networking
There's a local e-newsletter called "The Link" that clearly demonstrates the power of New Media.
The Link is the work of local "networker" Joel Jarvis. Jarvis, who is in the insurance industry, was looking for a leg up on the competition when he decided to put together and distribute a listing of all the business networking events in town each week. The comprehensive calendar he developed was quickly recognized as a powerful tool by others and the subscription list began to snowball.

Dear Joel -I wanted to drop you a line and tell you how valuable the LINK weekly newsletter and your events have been. Networking through the LINK has allowed me to stay in touch with key people in the community and keep a true pulse on what’s happening in business. At your events, I have met many great people, made some friends, and as a bonus been able to make some key business contacts.
